The Ontario Works Department provides financial assistance and employment supports to Chippewas of the Thames First Nation members who are in temporary need. The program helps individuals and families cover essential living costs while supporting them to achieve long-term self-sufficiency. Services include income support, employment assistance activities such as training, workshops, job search, and referrals, as well as wraparound supports tailored to individual and family needs. Ontario Works at COTTFN also delivers the Anishinabek Food Rights (AFR) program, giving members access to monthly food baskets and basic necessities, and manages the Transitional Support Fund (TSF), which assists low-income members with housing, utility, and household-related costs. Through these supports, Ontario Works helps members stabilize, build capacity, and move toward sustainable independence
